Sailors don’t take a bearing to feel bad about the drift. They take it to come about.

Come About Press publishes for the western church: books that take an honest bearing, then make the turn, recovering treasures the church has carried before and can carry again.

Come About Press publishes work that takes the faith seriously enough to argue with it — and loves the church enough to tell it the truth.

What we publish

We publish the turn — the moment a reader sees the same thing differently and can’t go back.

Come About Press is a small independent imprint that refuses to drift with the prevailing wind. We’re interested in writing that’s compressed, honest, and pointed — argument over explanation, the hard sentence over the safe one.

Theology
Written for the western church, from inside it — not to shame the drift, but to recover what the drift cost.
Essays
Honest bearings on the life of the church, taken one argument at a time.
Fiction
People who discover the thing they trusted most was quietly working against them. Different waters, same heading.

Come About Press is run by one person, not a committee. I write, edit, and publish these books because the drift they describe is one I know from the inside.

The work

Made with the patience of an instrument.

A book should carry the weight of its argument in its physical presence: measured, durable, built to be returned to.

01

Editorial integrity

Arguments are tested for structure, exegesis, clarity, and consequence — not for alignment with a market.

02

Material restraint

Typography, paper, and binding serve the book. Nothing shouts where quiet confidence will hold.

03

Long usefulness

Books made for underlining, lending, teaching, and finding again years after the first reading.

Bearings

Get word when a new title makes port.

No noise. A short note when there’s something worth reading — a release, an excerpt, a change of course.
